Malaysia, holy grail fish and more

There are a small handful of fish that are rare and magical; we call them holy grail fish. Normally, divers will go to exorbitant lengths to see just one of these so imagine my surprise when we saw one – an ornate ghost pipefish – on our checkout dive! I knew then that this was going to be something special and it sure was. Before the end of the week at Sipadan, Mabul and Kapalai, we had seen a number of these fish including 4 ornate ghost pipefish together (pic), something that in 9000 dives we had never seen before. Pretty sweet.

It was the BEST GDE trip yet! Don't miss it. The diving was stunningly beautiful every day. There were so many fish and varieties of everything in every color and type that it was overwhelming. The resort was great and the staff catered to our group. Be sure to see one of the "new" wonders of the world. L&L from NC
