The drifts into the atolls were amazing the closest I have been to flying under water.

Sharks everywhere huge tigers, silver tips and schools of eagle rays magnificent. Would love to do the trip again.

Getting There

Tahiti, Bora Bora and the Tuamotus

Getting there in TWO Easy Steps:

Are you getting the picture in these getting there sections, that really traveling is NOT as hard as it may seem!!! And if you want the travel planning process to be easy and fun, check out my e-book!!!!

Ok, back to Tahiti.

  1. Fly from Los Angeles to Papeete, Tahiti (PPT)
  2. Fly from Papeete to one of the outer islands

Really it IS that simple.

  1. You can take a 1:00pm out of LAX and arrive in Papeete for dinner or take a red eye, your choice. The 1:00 flight is operated by the lovely airline, Air Tahiti Nui and Air New Zealand and Qantas codeshare this flight. The red eye leaves at 10:30pm and arrives at 4:00am. This is Delta/Air France. Either way, it’s a quick 8 1/2 hours and you are in South Seas Paradise!!!!
  2. If you are diving (and of course you are!) you’ll want to hop to another island for the best diving. Air Tahiti, the domestic airlines runs easy, convenient flights from Faaa airport in Papeete. With the allies building so many great runways during WWII getting in and out of many of these remote islands of French Polynesia is really a snap!
